The noodle isn’t long enough to sit in the center and hold a can in an upright position, you have to hold the noodle upright on that side. The cup holder is just large enough for a can or soda bottle, nothing larger, and it provides great insulation. Maybe an adapter like what you get for older model cars would work, but not worth all that effort for the $15 extra cost over the standard noodle.
